Week 1: Problem Contest

Hello, students! This is the first of many weekly math contests that will be held every Sunday.

THIS WEEK'S PROBLEM:

Alice, Bob, and Caroline bought some apples, and distributed the apples amongst them. They made sure that each person got at least one apple. If they had at most 20 apples in total, how many ways are there to distribute the apples?

PRIZE:

The first 10 people to respond with the correct answer and correct solution will get an honorable mention on our website under the newspaper section for that week. Submissions are due every Saturday, so the problem for this week is due on March 12, 2022.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Students can upload submissions to the problem using the following Google Form: https://forms.gle/2TsBSLMTTh1xaLA77. You are only allowed a single submission, so please carefully check your submission.
