ABOUT US
Girls are Great at Math is a nonprofit organization that offers free math classes to students of all genders in grades 2-8. Our goal is to foster a community that empowers females through a math education that bridges the gap from school-taught math to advanced math. Currently, we have over 700 students from all over the United States as well as international students in Canada, China, Peru, and India learning in our program. Our large team of over 30 volunteer student teachers work weekly to well accommodate each and every one of these students as best as we can!
At Girls are Great at Math, our majority female-led team works every day to inspire younger girls to advance their interests in math. We hope that our female teachers can set an example for our students that
girls can be great at math too. Simultaneously, by offering co-ed classes, we aim to create a healthy math community that builds confidence and prepares girls for the math field alongside their male counterparts.
Ways We Help
Who We Are
We offer grade level based courses for children in grades 2-8. It covers all of the information taught in school and provides students with more practice to prepare for the state test. Students and parents may register for any of these classes at any time throughout the year.
REGULAR COURSES
GRADES 2-8
There are currently no free online resources that teach students the basics and challenges in competitional math. Our courses in competitive math are taught by volunteer high school students who are veterans of competitional math and will help students prepare for competitions such as the MOEMS competition for lower school students and the AMC8 and Mathcounts for middle school students.
